Ifeatu Oliobi

I am an applied microeconomist who works in the fields of education, labor markets, and international development. Currently, I am a researcher at Ithaka S+R, where I study and evaluate policies and programs related to postsecondary access, equity, and success.

Previously, I led mixed-methods education research projects at the New York City Department of Education and Oxford Policy Management Limited. I began my career as an economist in the public sector, analyzing financial markets data to inform monetary policy decisions at the Central Bank of Nigeria; and supporting public financial management reforms as an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow at the South Sudan Ministry of Finance.

I hold a PhD in economics and education from Columbia University - Teachers College, where my research focused on access to education and labor market opportunities in low- and middle-income countries. I also hold a master’s degree in economics from the University of Warwick and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Covenant University.
